Heroes Never Die: Healing (15)The next week or so passed by fast as Jack kept you busy. He met you in the training room twice a day and worked you harder than you thought your body capable of enduring. Early in the week Gabriel had assured you that your parents were safe—that McCree was keeping an eye on them. Somehow that was enough to put your mind at ease; after all, if Gabriel was confident that McCree could handle this then who were you to disagree? When he entered the planning room he could see Jack sitting down at the long table going over the information they’d gathered during the mission. Gabriel sat down across from the man and Jack looked up from his tablet to regard him with a calculating gaze as if he was trying to gauge if he should have his gun ready or not. “Jack…” he greeted and the man simply grunted in response as he put down the tablet. Gabriel had known it’d be tough to stay here, it’d test the limits of his patience but he felt he owed you and so here he sat with the man that had killed him.
“Did you tell her?” Jack as
